If you are like me, you will need the full chart for this rug – otherwise something will go horribly wrong with the other corners.
It is here Geometric_Rose_OHM_20130116
The design is based on one taken from a Victorian sampler. It is a fairly simple to work and gives a satisfying result.
On 22 count canvas it should be about 6.4 x 4.5 inches (16.2 x 11.3 cm)
There are a few more (non-floral) geometric rug charts on the projects page and I will continue to add different designs from time to time. (When I find my carpet samples I will also add some photos ! )

I do have another reason for today’s post.
I have been thinking about what to do next and looking back at the instructions on how to put the paper theatre together, I came to the conclusion that –
- The writing was rather small on the screen
- I need a better way to combine text and photos – sometimes I wasn’t sure which photo belonged to which piece of text.
- (I am lazy,) I need to find a more efficient (easier) way to upload a large amount of information to WordPress
So I thought I would experiment with a slideshow on Slideshare.
This is #3 and I think it is still far from perfect but, if you would like to know how I charted this design, you may find it interesting.
TO manipulate photos so they do not take up so much room, and time to upload/download…I go to a free site – so google it as:
Pic Monkey. I always reduce my images from about 2025 x 1986 down to one of the size is 900 and I make sure I check the – keep porportion.

Thank you! Pic Monkey is new to me.
The auto adjust function did amazing things to my trial photo.
I’m looking forward to experimenting more!

I don’t do miniature needlework, but I was interested in seeing what the Slideshare was about. It was very easy to “watch” online, although once I got through your slideshow the bar that let me drop out of full screen mode disappeared and I couldn’t figure out how to get back to normal screen. I finally hit the button in the upper-right-hand corner, which looked like a replay button, and it took me back to your slideshow and I could go back to the normal screen. I was also relieved to see that the images could be saved as jpegs on my PC…just in case I wanted a copy of the pattern or the instructions. I like it better than the slideshows where I can’t save an image.

Thank you for taking the time to have a look – and for commenting !
It is a big help to feedback. I think the Slideshare viewer does different things in different browsers. I always press the escape button on my keyboard to get back to the original screen. (I use Firefox most of the time).
On my computer the picture quality is not great but, from my point of view, it is easier to make a slideshow of the written instructions (with the pictures) and then upload the whole thing via Slideshare.
Next time I had better put a note somewhere about ways to quit the slideshow.
Thank you again. Elizabeth
